Job Summary
The Symantec Business Development Executive is being
recruited to develop the Symantec License and Services business in Germany.
This is a combined role of proactive sales development and pre-sales duties
which require both sales and technical capabilities. This is clearly a sales
role focusing on new business.
Main Tasks
- Initiate on-site customer
visits to discuss their requirements (may involve overnight
stays due to distance), Investigate their requirements, ensuring all relevant
areas are explored.
- Being
able to translate customer requirements into Symantec's solution portfolio
- Develop and adapt
technology and license offerings with respect to Symantec products in Germany.
- Train account managers on
Symantec products and the corresponding Insight services
- Organize, coordinate and
conduct workshops, promotional events, seminars, etc. together with Symantec to identify client demands and to explore
solutions
- Support Account Manager on
existing and new accounts to grow the Symantec business at Insight
- Work closely with the
marketing department to market technology services offerings and to generate
leads
- Assist on the creation and
adaptation of communications, presentations & businesses cases
- Write proposals and generate
follow-up business
- Collation of all sales and
client information including opportunity data into the designated CRM tool
- Proactive follow up of
opportunities to close deals
- Weekly review of pipeline and forecast with Account
Managers and Insight Consulting Manager
- Heavily utilize the
pre-sales capabilities of Insight
- Continually maintain and
nurture Insight's relationship to Symantec
- Prepare for and pass technical Symantec
certifications in any and all related areas
The role, responsibilities and
geographical focus will change and develop over time along with the company's
rapid growth.
Required skills:
- Technical understanding of customers' situations and
needs
- Master the sales role while also being a technical
specialist
- Experienced in winning new business
- Excellent analytical and structured mindset
- Excellent customer facing skills
- Good written and verbal
communication skills (English and German)
- Experience in process-oriented thinking
- Need to be a high-energy,
motivated self-starter as well as a team player
- At least 3 years experience in the Symantec area
- Willingness to travel; drivers license required
- Ability to work independently
- Responsibility for the following Symantec products:
- BackupExec (BE)
- BackupExec System Recovery (BESR)
- Netbackup (NBU)
- Enterprise Vault (EV)
- Storage Product Solutions (incl. Server Foundation,
Storage Foundation, Cluster-Solutions (SF))
